| Latest News: | 30 Jun 09 12:29 Move to Centro complete!
Apart from some minor delays, the Data Centre Migration went through successfully with little, if any, hiccups. KVM access to all of our racks will be online on Wednesday of this week, which will give us greater flexibility with providing support for our customers and keeping services online 24/7.
Images of the new centre and our rack layout will be posted within the next week.
Over the coming months we have some other upgrades planned, including upgrading our Web Server, Releasing our new Billing Panel and upgrading all of our current Game-Server machines to new highly specced machines. More info will be released here nearer the time.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at anytime via support[at]tigit.co.uk.
Kash - Tigit.co.uk | 8 Jun 09 10:19 Data Centre Migration - 20th June - BlueSquare to Centro
On Saturday 20th June at 00:30 we will be migrating 10 of our 16 racks currently housed in Bluesquare Data Centre to a new facility in Hamel Hampstead North London. The six remaining racks comprising of our larger colocation customers will continue to be housed at Bluesquare until the end of their contractual obligation.
The new facility, named Centro, is one of the highest specification data centres in the country able to accommodate our future rack and network requirements. If anyone would like a little more information about the data centre please have a read here http://blog.gyron.net/
Our main reason for moving away from Bluesquare is down to the inability to expand network capacity to their location. Centro in contrast is geared towards larger clients and ISP’s with high bandwidth requirements.
Our commitment and focus has always been providing our customers with the highest quality network, ensuring no corners are cut along the way. With the move to Centro, we will be doubling network capacity supplied over two private wavelength fiber circuits used to terminate the connection between our two main routers. Latency will also be slightly reduced as the physical fiber distance will be shorter between our main networking rack in Telehouse North and Centro in North London.
Below is our schedule for the 20th: (Please note, times may vary depending on circumstances during the night/day)
00:30 - All services will be powered off and left in the racks to cool down for 40 minutes before being loaded on to vans.
05:30 - We expect to have all hardware loaded and ready to be transported to Centro with an approximate 45 minute drive time.
06:30 – Unloading of hardware at the Centro end begins.
10:30 – 12:00 - All core services should be online. Core services include: Router B, Core switching, Web Servers, DNS services, Game Panel and Ventrilo/Teamspeak services.
12:00 – 20:00 – Through this period racks will be powered on as and when cabling and auditing is complete (on a per rack basis).
20:00+ – Final checks to ensure all auditing is complete and accurate, and that all services are online.
We’ve put a small Q and A section below aimed at providing answers to the most common questions.
1) Will our IP(s) remain the same?
Yes, all IP’s will remain the same. KillerCreation is an ISP with assigned IP blocks from Ripe - the governing body for AS/IP space in Europe.
2) Will the quality of network remain the same?
Yes absolutely, if anything there will be an improvement due to our own private fiber wavelength circuits from our Centro based router to our main router and networking rack in Telehouse.
3) Will any of your transit peers change?
No, our main networking rack in Telehouse terminates our transit peers including Tiscali, ENTA, NTL/Virgin and Goscomb.
4) How many people will be involved in the move?
To ensure the move goes as smoothly and as quickly as possible, there will be five people involved in moving and racking equipment.
5) Will we receive updates during the day?
KillerCreation support staff will be available from 16:00 Saturday afternoon. If for any reason delays occur, they will be relayed to support staff from onsite hands.
6) Will our price increase?
No, we won’t be increasing prices on any of our services.
If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us at anytime via support[at]tigit.co.uk.
Kash - Tigit.co.uk | 23 Apr 09 07:43 Upgrades / Maintenance Notification
This evening (23rd - 24th April 2009) we will be carrying out a number of infrastructure upgrades including updating our main router's hardware and adding an additional core switch.
The upgrades are scheduled for 3:30am and expected to take no longer than 40 mins. Due to the nature of the upgrades, connectivity will be unavailable during the maintenance period while the new hardware is fitted and configured.

Kash - Tigit.co.uk | 20 Feb 09 12:24 FREE Mohawk Voice Servers!
Mohawk is the next generation of VoIP software aimed predominantly at the gaming market boasting crystal clear sound, ultra low resources, and new features over its competition. The software has been in development a little over two years and is nearing official release planned for around May/June.
We expect Mohawk to be huge hit within the gaming community and are proud to be an Official Licensed Provider for the UK and European region. Quoted from http://www.mohawkvoice.com
"Mohawk was designed purely with simplicity in mind. The application requires far less computer resources (CPU/RAM) compared to other leading applications. This reduces game lag caused by low FPS (frames per second) due to high computer resource consumption.
While requiring less resources, Mohawk continues to provide high quality audio, that is generally clearer than competing products. Used by professionals, gamers, and the average Joe alike, Mohawk gets the job done without interfering with your productivity, or lack thereof."
So how do I get my free server?
Simply contact us via our form here. Please include your full name and use Mohawk Voice Trial as the subject. All requests will receive a free 20 slot server until the official release date whereby you'll be given the option to carry on renting the product. We anticipate offering Mohawk cheaper than competing products.
We're not asking for anything in return but would encourage anyone trialing a server to provide feedback, suggestions, or any other comments you might have in our forums here. Mohawk Client download is available here but please check the forums for new releases.
